iSalsa2 to Launch New Classes

Join the evolution, iSalsa2 does it again!

Starting March 24th iSalsa2 will introduce two new classes dedicated to develop each dancer individuality.

Mondays will get started by incorporating Belly Dancing into the Salsa realm. The techniques and practices introduced with Belly dancing will enable dancers to find different types of body isolation, and develop dancer's body control.

Monday continues with a kick, actually with a Clave and Tumbao. The two core rhythms of Salsa music are going to be explained and played by the instructor, which together with other rhythms, will integrate them in whole songs.
The classes covers the basic musicality and rhythms needed by any dancers to fully understand Salsa music, and to further develop as dancers. The class is an all level class.

iSalsa2 at The Chicago Intl. Salsa Congress

iSalsa2, a UI student organization, is proud to announce that it is sending ten members to perform the routine "Piratas versus la Muerte" in next month's Chicago International Salsa Congress, a four-day conference that unites dancers and instructors from around the world for workshops, performances, and nights of social dancing (www.chicagosalsacongress.com). The iSalsa2 routine is a rueda de casino-style choreography set to "La Muerte" by El Gran Combo and was designed by iSalsa2's Artistic Director, UI senior Amanda Bleatman. iSalsa2 will perform in the Emerging Artists Showcase on February 16, 2008, at 4:00 pm.

iSalsa2 is a not-for- profit organization founded in 2007 by instructor Erika V and DJ Mambo Italiano to promote Latin dancing culture in Champaign-Urbana. The group hosts beginning and intermediate salsa and tropical dance classes and workshops, such as the upcoming SalsaAfrique series with UI Adjunct Professor Djibril Camara.
